This renewed Saxon farm close to Ruinen is an unique accommodation with many rural elements. A fine place therefore to spend a holiday. Ruinen is an atmospheric village with an old history where, just as in the old days, the cosy Brink is a binding element in the village society. In the beautiful surroundings of Ruinen there are many leisure possibilities like for example cycling and walking. Of course there are cycle routes through the National Park ‘Dwingelderveld’ and the woods of Ruinen. In and around Ruinen you will find many sights like for example: the visitor centre of “Dwingelderveld’, the pen where you can watch the sheep leave and return from their ramble over the heath. You can also join an excursion in the mill ‘De Zaandplatte’ or visit the Museum farm or the different galleries. In summer many events are organized such as: playing bridge, watching wildlife in an open jeep, children’s events, folkloric evenings, open-air games, cycle tours (under supervision) etc. A visit to Ruinen is definitely worth it!!
